In the end of October the AIC 2014 International Colour Conference was held in Oaxaca, Mexico. The theme was Colour & Culture and gathered participants from all over the world. It was a three day conference with paper presentations and a poster session. We have a lot of colourful memories and fruitful meetings among “colour people”, a lot to be remembered.
Oaxaca is a city located about 300 miles south of Mexico City. It is rich in history and culture, a fascinating place where you can appreciate ancient civilizations, colonial art and architecture and vibrant cultural traditions. Monte Alban is a large pre-Columbian archaeological site, located on a spectacular mountaintop setting, about 16 km west of Oaxaca city and was the capital of the Zapotec civilization from 500 B.C. to 800 A.D.
Many of the villages surrounding Oaxaca city specialize in different types of handicrafts, including ceramics, textiles, wood carvings, and tin work. All very rich in colour!
